Job Description
Remote Candidates must be located in the Bay Area
Mandarin or Cantonese speaking is desired!
A rapidly growing family law firm is searching for a tech-savvy Senior Family Law Paralegal to support one attorney from a remote position. The position is working out of the Santa Clara court system so candidates must be located within the Bay Area of California. They are looking for someone with at least 5 years of family law paralegal experience and 1+ years of recent experience in Santa Clara courts to help oversee a caseload of 35-45 cases and serve as the primary liaison between clients and attorney. As part of a supportive team, you ll enjoy the freedom to manage your day-to-day activities with the trust and autonomy that comes from remote work. The position comes with a competitive salary, monthly bonus incentive, health benefits and plenty of time off!
Salary Range: $37 - $45 / hour DOE
Senior Family Law Paralegal Requirements:
- 5+ years of dedicated experience in Family Law
- 1+ year of recent experience in Santa Clara County courts
- Paralegal certificate is preferred
- Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills
- Strong communication abilities and professional phone presence
- Must have experience with legal processes and regulations specific to California
- Proficiency in using legal software such as My Case CRM
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting
- Demonstrated capability to handle a high caseload effectively
- Familiarity with drafting, calendaring, and e-filing procedures
- Candidates must live in the Bay Area
- Mandarin or Cantonese speaking is a plus
Senior Family Law Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and attorneys, ensuring clear and timely communication
- Oversee a caseload of 35-45 cases, managing all aspects from initiation to resolution
- Prepare legal documents, including motions, subpoenas, and trial preparations
- Maintain accurate legal calendars to ensure no deadlines are missed
- Handle electronic filing of court documents, primarily for courts in Santa Clara County
- Conduct comprehensive discovery processes to gather and analyze pertinent information and documents
- Draft and manage the issuance of subpoenas to procure necessary evidence and witness testimony
- Develop and file legal motions pertinent to ongoing cases
- Assist in preparing cases for trial, including organizing exhibits, documents, and witness lists
- Keep track of all case-related deadlines to ensure timely submissions and compliance with court schedules
