A dynamic real estate developer in Atlanta, GA specializing in film studio projects for industry giants like Disney and Apple, is seeking a skilled a Controller to join their close-knit team. This hybrid role involves managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, and interfacing with tenants and capital partners. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-autonomy, fast-paced environment, balancing detailed financial operations with strategic oversight.
Position Title: Controller
Controller Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting, including bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close
- Manage financial reporting, audits, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions
- Interface with tenants, ensuring accurate lease agreements and payment records
- Collaborate with equity and debt partners, handling financial coordination and reporting
- Lead accounting processes during real estate pre-development, development, and construction phases
- Utilize QuickBooks and other tools to maintain accurate financial records
Controller Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting required
- 7+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in real estate
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Strong knowledge of lease agreements and real estate accounting processes
- CPA certification preferred
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently
