Senior Water Resources Engineer
Job Description
A leading engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Austin, TX. This hybrid role focuses on designing and managing municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on pipelines, drainage, and tunneling. The ideal candidate will bring a Texas PE license, technical expertise, and leadership experience. This is an excellent opportunity to work on impactful city and federally funded projects within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Senior Water Resources Engineer Requirements:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
- Minimum of 12 years of civil engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Expertise in water/wastewater pipelines, drainage systems, and tunneling projects
- Strong proficiency in CAD and related design software
- Experience with municipal construction projects; process and chemical engineering backgrounds are not a fit
- Proven ability to manage projects, mentor teams, and collaborate with multidisciplinary groups
Senior Water Resources Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee water/wastewater pipeline and drainage projects, ensuring compliance with municipal and federal standards
- Collaborate with teams to deliver civil engineering solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects, including parkland facilities and airport expansions
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineering staff
- Manage construction and program management tasks for projects like light rail expansions
- Contribute to diverse civil projects, ranging from large infrastructure to smaller municipal efforts
