A well-established construction firm in Hillsborough Township, NJ, is seeking a talented Senior Staff Accountant to join their growing team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position offers an opportunity to tackle meaningful responsibilities and advance your career within a stable and dynamic organization. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing accounts receivable, collections, change orders, and month-end close processes. Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 / year DOE
Senior Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers to streamline billing and organize accounts receivable efforts
- Develop aging schedules and enhance the AR process for improved efficiency
- Maintain accurate job cost reports by overseeing change order documentation
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including journal entries and reconciliation tasks
- Provide Excel support, utilizing pivot tables and v-lookups for financial analysis
- Support contractor documentation and manage vendor invoicing to ensure timely payments
Senior Staff Accountant Requirements:
- 3+ years of construction accounting experience required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is a plus
- Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, v-lookups)
- Familiarity with accounting systems like Sage Intacct preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and maintain patience when providing tech support
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
