Senior Property Accountant
Job Description
A real estate management firm in Houston, TX is in search of a Senior Property Accountant to join their growing team of the company s newest branch. The best match candidates have experience in commercial property accounting, including CAM reconciliations and budgeting. This role involves managing the monthly property accounting cycle, working closely with property managers, and handling lease administration tasks. The Property Accountant will report directly to the Controller and play a key role in maintaining strong financial relationships with property managers.
Senior Property Accountant Requirements:
- 3+ years of commercial property accounting experience; CAM reconciliations required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High-caliber attention to detail
- BA Degree in a relevant field preferred
- Proficiency in Yardi and Entrata preferred
- Budgeting experience preferred
- Ability to work onsite 100% at their office in Houston, TX
Senior Property Accountant Responsibilities:
- Be the point person for CAM reconciliation and budgeting
- Manage the monthly property accounting cycle
- Prepare preliminary financials and review the general ledger
- Work with property managers on accruals and financial matters
- Handle lease administration tasks, including setting up tenants in the software
- Oversee and approve all AP invoices, managing the payables process
- Maintain strong relationships with property managers
- Assist with special projects, including bringing new properties in-house
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting
