Senior Project Accountant
Job Description
An electrical construction contracting firm in Broussard, LA, is searching for a hands-on and highly skilled Senior Project Accountant to manage financial and accounting operations across multiple locations. As the Senior Project Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting following GAAP, overseeing local controllers and other accounting staff, and managing project budgets for a range of industrial, medical, and institutional construction projects. You will enjoy wearing multiple hats in a stable construction work atmosphere with an open-door policy, while working closely with experienced professionals and directly contributing to the company's growth and success. Senior Project Accountant Requirements:
- 4+ years of accounting experience - 5+ years preferred
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting is required (finance degree with strong project accounting background will be considered)
- Construction industry experience
- Project accounting experience
- Proficiency in systems such as Sage and Domo is a plus
- CPA certification is preferred but not required
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in layman terms
- Able to work closely with senior management and lead a team
Senior Project Accountant Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting and financial operations for multiple branches
- Manage month-end reporting for the region, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards
- Supervise the work of local controllers/accounting managers based in Tennessee, Knoxville, Arkansas, and New Orleans
- Engage in project accounting for a variety of projects
- Hands-on role involving journal entries and close processes
