Job Description


A cutting-edge leader in multiplace hyperbaric and hypobaric systems is searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help develop, design, and implement hyperbaric chamber systems and ancillary equipment. They are looking for a senior engineer with a background in mechanical or aerospace fields who is well-versed in the codes and standards of the hyperbaric industry. You ll have the chance to work closely with the Chief Hyperbarics Engineer and a skilled team where technical expertise and a hands-on approach to facilitate construction and testing for specifications and standards will make a significant impact in a state-of-the-art industry! This is a hybrid position based in Alexandria, VA, and it comes with great benefits, a non-corporate work atmosphere and a generous PTO policy for great work-life balance!

Pay Range: $130, 000 - $150, 000 DOE

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and design of hyperbaric chamber systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Facilitate the creation of detailed spreadsheets specifying component requirements for each project
  • Engage in drafting, structural design, and the development of engineering manuals and materials
  • Act as the technical lead on projects, managing designs, and collaborating closely with the production team
  • Review and validate structural calculations and designs developed by subcontractors and in-house team members
  • Work within a dynamic environment focusing on the medical industry, with opportunities to contribute to projects across tunneling and restoration applications

Requirements:
  • 7-10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong understanding of mechanical assemblies and the creation of bills of materials
  • Proven experience working with AutoCAD 2D, Excel (advanced proficiency), and familiarity with drawing standards
  • B.S. In Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus
  • Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to understand and apply industry codes and standards
  • A self-starter with a team-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable in a learning and collaborative work environment
  • Experience with AutoCAD 3D is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with section 8/division 1 standards is preferred
