Senior Drainage Engineer
Job Description
A leading engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to join their dynamic team in Austin, TX. This role focuses on managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on drainage and civil elements. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for contributing to impactful municipal and federally funded projects. Senior Drainage Engineer Requirements:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
- Expertise in water/wastewater pipelines, drainage systems, and tunneling projects
- Strong proficiency in CAD and related engineering software
- Experience with municipal construction projects; process and chemical engineering backgrounds are not a fit
- Ability to manage projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Senior Drainage Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design and manage water/wastewater pipeline and drainage projects, ensuring compliance with municipal and federal standards
- Collaborate with teams to deliver civil engineering solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects, including tunneling and airport expansions
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineering staff
- Participate in construction and program management for projects like light rail and parkland facilities
- Ensure timely project delivery while maintaining budget and quality standards
- Support business development by contributing to proposals and client engagement
