Senior Accountant
Job Description
A leading provider of extended vehicle warranties in Northbrook, IL is searching for a Senior Accountant to join their team! They are looking for someone with at least 3 years of accounting experience with a down-to-earth attitude, who communicates well. This exciting opportunity is fully remote for candidates who live in the EST/CST time zone and it comes with a great benefits package, bonus potential, growth opportunities, and much more! Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries to reflect accurate financial statements on a timely basis
- Oversee reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies
- Conduct variance analysis, providing detailed explanations for budget-to-actual discrepancies
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Coordinate with external auditors, preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Recommend process improvements for efficiency and compliance
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong foundation in full cycle accounting and GAAP
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Previous experience in a mid-size company environment is preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks is preferred
