Senior Accountant
Job Description
Hybrid
An established investment firm is seeking a skilled accounting professional to join its team in a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC. This individual will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to oversee various aspects of accounting, financial reporting, transaction processing, office administration, and special projects. Key responsibilities include managing month, quarter, and year-end closings, cash reconciliation, AP/AR, budget forecasting, payroll processing, and compliance reporting for SBA and other partners. The role also supports quarterly and annual audits for multiple investment funds, ensuring both GAAP and SBA-compliant financial practices. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of accounting experience, be proficient in Excel, and hold a CPA. This role is suited for a proactive, personable professional who thrives in a collaborative, process-driven environment.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Oversee and support financial audits for five investment funds, collaborating with portfolio companies
- Reconcile cash, manage accounts payable and receivable, and oversee payroll for employees
- Perform budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, including reporting for SBA and limited partners
- Monitor and manage lines of credit, and assist in special projects such as financial analysis and process improvements
- Assist with compliance for SBA accounting, ensuring reporting meets SBA guidelines and templates
- Communicate with deal teams and other departments to improve workflow and address financial reporting needs
- Help with office administration, including vendor management and office tasks as needed
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a background in public accounting or small business accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- CPA certification required
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred
- Knowledge of SBA accounting and reporting preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Must be a team player with an outgoing personality and the ability to work with diverse teams and leadership
