Job Description
A leading wine brokerage firm in Carlsbad, CA is searching for a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Accountant! The company is on the lookout for a tech-savvy candidate with at least 3 years of accounting experience to manage financial transactions, oversee payroll and taxes, and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role is perfect for an ambitious, early career professional who is eager to learn and grow within a supportive and energetic environment. Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000 / year DOE
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in accounting
- Degree in Accounting (required)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop preferred)
- Strong Excel skills (formulas required)
- Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new software and systems
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Manage debits and credits, quarterly close, and journal entries
- Oversee inventory management software transactions into QuickBooks
- Collect sales tax for CA and FL, ensuring compliance
- Handle credit card processing and evaluation of fraudulent transactions
- Review and manage FedEx bills for accuracy
- Process payroll for 12 employees (semi-monthly) using ADP
- Manage the 401k (cafeteria plan)
- Pay vendors and manage accounts payable
- Ensure timely and accurate bill payments
