Senior Accountant
Job Description
A national commercial general contractor in Alpharetta, GA is searching for a proactive and organized Senior Accountant to join their team! This is a key role at the firm that involves job costing, financial reporting and various other accounting tasks. They are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of construction accounting experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to multi-task while working within deadlines. Senior Accountant Requirements:
- 3+ years of accounting experience in construction 5+ years is preferred
- Expertise in QuickBooks Desktop, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Understanding of job cost accounting, financial reporting, and payroll processing procedures and systems
- Strong budgeting and financial analysis capabilities, ability to perform account analysis and identify discrepancies
- High School Diploma required - Open to candidates with significant experience over a degree
- Familiarity with Procore software is preferred
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Manage data entry for accounts payable and receivable, including monthly AIA billings, and maintain the general ledger using QuickBooks Desktop
- Provide weekly job cost reports, monthly work-in-progress reports, and in-house financial statements to CPA
- Reconcile company credit cards on a regular basis
- Handle weekly and monthly vendor and subcontractor payments
- Assist team members with certificates of insurance, subcontractor insurance records, and project file maintenance
- Coordinate hotel arrangements and travel for out-of-state projects
- Assist with bond procurement, insurance audits, and other administrative tasks as needed
- Manage health and dental enrollments, 401k weekly submissions, and workers' comp reporting
- Prepare and submit annual reports, including W-2s and 1099s
- Maintain equipment inventory, vehicle registrations, and insurance permits
- Fill in for the payroll supervisor during vacations, including processing and verifying time, certified payroll, and direct deposit
