Job Description

An innovative environmental consulting and technical services firm in Helena, MT is seeking a hands-on Source Testing Project Manager/Technician to oversee project management and execution of source tests for their clients. This dynamic role involves regional travel and physically demanding work in outdoor and industrial environments, often at elevated heights. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing documentation, conducting tests, collaborating with clients and team members, managing project budgets and timelines, and seeking new project opportunities.

Salary Range: $45 - $50 / hour DOE

Source Testing Project Manager/Technician Responsibilities:

  • Manage source testing projects from initiation to completion, including client introduction calls, project planning, execution, and reporting while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Perform emission tests, troubleshoot equipment, and oversee post-work maintenance
  • Lead a field team, collaborating closely with clients, regulatory personnel, and team members to achieve project goals
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Ensure workplace safety and strict adherence to safety protocols
  • Identify opportunities for new projects and work to secure contracts

Source Testing Project Manager/Technician Requirements:

  • Must have or be able to recertify QSTI certification (or QI)
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in source testing and project management
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel and a working knowledge of regulatory testing methods
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willing to travel regionally a majority of the time, including overnight stays
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in challenging conditions
  • PMP certification and/or PE license is preferred but not required
