Residential Counselor
Job Description
A renowned nonprofit organization in Dorchester, MA is searching for a compassionate Residential Counselor to support senior individuals in a specialized homecare setting. They are looking for someone with at least 2 years of experience in a healthcare or human services-related field to provide daily living support, medication administration, and implement treatment plans for individuals with developmental disabilities. The position is full-time, onsite, with a choice of day or night shifts, and includes benefits like health insurance, PTO, and opportunities to advance in your career. Pay Range: $20 - $22/hr DOE
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily living support to individuals in Specialized Home Care
- Facilitate health and wellness activities, social/recreational opportunities, and community access
- Administer and document medications in compliance with DPH regulations and DDS requirements
- Implement individual treatment plans, including behavioral and academic data collection
- Accompany clients to various appointments and leisure activities
- Perform household maintenance, adhere to safety procedures, and attend required staff trainings
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in human services healthcare or related field
- CPR and First Aid Certified, or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire
- MAP Administration Program certification for the state of MA
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Physical ability to navigate multi-floor residences
- BS/BA in Human Services or related field is preferred
- Experience with adult population with brain trauma/developmental disabilities is preferred
- Bilingual is preferred
