Remote Litigation Attorney
Job Description
An insurance defense firm in Irvine, CA is searching for a talented Litigation Attorney to join their team! They are looking for candidates with 0-4 years of experience and a background in insurance defense or personal injury defense. This is the perfect opportunity for motivated attorneys who love the challenge of complex litigation and want to be exposed to a diverse range of cases, where every day is not just the same. You will truly be able to improve your status as a professional at this firm due to the cases you will get to work on and all the opportunities there are to learn. (Candidates must be located in SoCal to travel to site inspections)
Salary Range: $90,000 - $140,000 DOE
Litigation Attorney Requirements:
- 0-4 years of litigation experience
- Insurance Defense or Defense Personal Injury (Auto vs Auto, Trucking, Habitability)
- Experience in billing pursuant to ADA or LNA codes is ideal
- Active bar membership in California
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and tasks efficiently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for client interaction and team collaboration
- Familiarity with legal software and tools such as Slack, CosmoLex, Westlaw, and Dragon Dictation
- Proven dedication and work ethic, with a strong capacity for critical thinking
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to engage with clients and team members positively
- Candidates must reside in Southern California
Litigation Attorney Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 12-13 complex litigation cases, including construction defects and personal injury defense, to ensure efficient resolution
- Serve as the primary client contact, fostering strong relationships through consistent communication and aligning with client objectives
- Lead discovery processes, draft motions, handle cross-complaints, and implement risk transfer strategies to safeguard client interests
- Conduct necessary on-site inspections to collect critical case information
- Collaborate effectively with the legal team, utilizing paralegal and secretarial support to optimize case management and outcomes
- Accurately track and record billable hours to achieve or surpass set targets, employing effective time management for optimal efficiency and firm profitability
