A high-end appliance company is seeking an organized and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join their Residential Appliances division in White Plains, NY. In this role, you will support the buying team by coordinating with vendors, sales, accounting, and warehouse operations to ensure accurate pricing, smooth deliveries, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This position is ideal for a tech-savvy, detail-oriented individual with strong communication and follow-up skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Position Title: Purchasing Assistant
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 / year DOE
Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist the buying team with vendor coordination and pricing updates
- Monitor pricing accuracy between sales and purchase orders
- Collaborate with accounting to ensure alignment of purchase and billing prices
- Communicate proactively with vendors, sales teams, and warehouse staff to manage deliveries
- Work with sales to set realistic commitments and ensure customer expectations are met
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, including filtering and VLOOKUP functions
- Manage inventory and vendor ordering systems to maintain accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain open communication with all stakeholders, ensuring smooth information flow
- Handle occasional high-pressure situations with professionalism and patience
Purchasing Assistant Requirements:
- 3+ years in a buying, procurement, or coordination role
- Proven experience in inventory management and vendor relations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., filtering, VLOOKUP)
- Strong organizational and follow-up abilities
- Ability to manage diverse personalities in high-pressure environments
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (required)
- Tech-savvy with strong computer skills
- Patient, even-keeled, and collaborative team player
