Job Description

A booming engineering construction company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee heavy civil water/wastewater treatment and pumping plant projects in Southern California. This role will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from start-up to completion and closeout, ensuring safety, quality, budget compliance, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Salary range: $130,000 - $215,000 / year DOE
Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee project execution, ensuring safety, quality, and financial performance
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules to meet key milestones
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and handle change orders
- Lead and supervise project teams
- Ensure compliance with all contract requirements, specifications, and safety regulations
- Collaborate with engineers, general contractors, and inspectors to resolve issues
- Approve materials, drawings, and submittals to align with project requirements
- Prepare and present regular project reports, including financial updates
- Identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain project timelines
Project Manager Requirements:
- 10+ years of project management experience in heavy civil and mechanical construction
- Proven experience managing wastewater treatment or pumping plant projects with contract values of $30M+
- Hands-on experience with shoring construction, large pumping equipment, sewer construction, protective lining/coating installation, and large-scale concrete placement
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams of 15-25 people
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook
- Ability to interpret contracts, plans, and specifications effectively
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is a plus
- Experience using project management software for scheduling and resource allocation
