Job Description

A well-established construction company in Lorton, VA, is searching for a motivated and organized Project Manager to join their team! They are looking for an experienced professional with a background in commercial construction project management, preferably in the civil sector, who can think outside the box and play a key role in overseeing diverse commercial projects. You will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Project Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in commercial construction
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction project management, preferably in the civil sector
  • Proficiency in Excel (including formulas) and Adobe or Bluebeam software
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and think outside the box
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Experience in civil construction projects without a degree is acceptable
  • Familiarity with the construction industry s best practices and safety regulations is preferred

Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple commercial construction projects ranging in costs
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and change orders to ensure project objectives are met
  • Collaborate with the VP of Construction, Superintendents, Estimators, and Accounting Team
  • Visit job sites 1-2 times per week to monitor progress and resolve issues
  • Ensure that materials are ordered and delivered on time, coordinating with superintendents
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships
  • Utilize Excel, Adobe, or Bluebeam for project management tasks, including takeoffs and budgeting
  • Maintain project documentation and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance
