Pre-Litigation Attorney
Job Description
A premier legal firm in Los Angeles, CA specializing in personal injury and employment law is searching for a highly motivated Pre-Litigation Attorney to join their team! The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in personal injury law, with experience assessing liabilities and damages in personal injury claims. This role is fully onsite and provides a lucrative earnings potential through a competitive base salary and uncapped commission. The firm also offers a laid-back, friendly work atmosphere and other attractive perks!
Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 DOE + commission
Responsibilities:
- Lead personal injury cases from initiation through to resolution, ensuring effective management and timely progression
- Direct Case Managers and Legal Assistants, creating a dynamic and productive team atmosphere
- Engage with various departments, including Property Damage, Case Management, Demands/Negotiation, and Liens, to optimize case results
- Evaluate case specifics to determine coverage and liability, applying a deep understanding of California's legal landscape
- Maintain open and honest communication with clients, delivering standout service and fostering trust through clarity and attentiveness
Requirements:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- A minimum of 2-3 years of pre-litigation experience in handling personal injury cases from inception to settlement
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise Case Managers and Legal Assistants, ensuring a productive team environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of California state laws, regulations, and legal procedures relevant to personal injury law
- Must be an active member in good standing with the California Bar Association
- Strong collaboration skills, with experience in working as part of a team, including the ability to coordinate with support staff and other attorneys
- Proven ability to assess liability and damages in personal injury claims
- Ability to manage a large caseload and handle cases of significant value
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Outlook) is required
- Familiarity with Filevine case management software is preferred
- English/Spanish bilingual is preferred
