Part Time Litigation Associate
Job Description
A commercial litigation law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL is searching for a Part-Time Litigation Associate to join their team! This role will work closely with the Managing Partner on commercial litigation matters, trial preparation, and legal research. They will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including drafting motions, preparing discovery, and assisting with depositions and trials. This position is mostly remote work, but candidates need to able to attend trials and come into the office as needed.
Part-Time Litigation Associate Requirements:
- Assist with trial preparation, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, and pre-trial stipulations
- Draft and review discovery documents, including interrogatories, requests to produce, and admissions
- Prepare and assist in depositions and third-party discovery, including drafting subpoenas
- Conduct legal research and prepare related documentation
- Work closely with the Managing Partner on active cases, providing hands-on support
- Handle files independently, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Part-Time Litigation Associate Responsibilities:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Florida Bar membership
- 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience
- Trial experience as first or second chair
- Proficiency in drafting motions and managing discovery processes
- Strong research and writing skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to attend trials and related onsite activities
