Job Description
An award-winning convention center venue in Hartford, CT is seeking a National Sales Manager to join their team! The company is looking for candidates with at least 3 years of experience in hospitality meeting sales who can guide the sales team in achieving revenue goals. You will be primarily responsible for booking multi-day corporate and association business meetings from an established base of accounts, while also converting new prospects and identifying new business opportunities. This exciting position offers the chance to work with a highly experienced and supportive leadership team, combined with attractive benefits, 3 day remote/2 day onsite hybrid schedule and strong growth potential!
Pay Range: $90,000 - $95,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Book multi-day corporate and association meetings from an established base of accounts
- Manage and convert high potential prospects while identifying new business opportunities
- Provide high-level leadership for the sales team to maximize guest bookings
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue goals
- Collaborate with the sales team to meet and exceed individual and team booking goals
- Gain in-depth knowledge of the Hartford market, destination offerings, hotels, and outside attractions to effectively pitch to potential clients
- Create and present proposals, negotiate prices, and draw up licensed agreements with customers
- Maintain communication with clients before and after events to ensure a positive guest experience
- Utilize Salesforce and other tools to manage accounts, leads, and information effectively
- Represent the venue at tradeshows and industry events, including occasional travel within the US
- Generate and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management
- Continuously prospect for new business opportunities and track business in the pipeline
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in hospitality meeting sales, including convention center sales, big box hotel sales, or similar industries
- Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor
- Proven track record in prospecting and closing business deals
- Ability to travel occasionally for tradeshows and events
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software is a plus
