Mechanical Shop Technician
Job Description
A cutting-edge leader in multiplace hyperbaric and hypobaric systems is searching for a Mechanical Shop Technician to help fabricate, assemble, install, maintain and repair hyperbaric chambers and ancillary equipment. They are looking for an experienced technician with a background in one of the following areas Commercial Diving, Aircraft Mechanic, Auto Mechanic, Medical Gas Plumber, Boiler Mechanic, Electro/Mechanical Controls Mechanic, or Marine Industry Technician. You ll have the chance to collaborate with a skilled team where your technical expertise and a hands-on approach will make a significant impact in a state-of-the-art industry! This position is fully on-site in Alexandria, VA, and you can look forward to a non-corporate work atmosphere, great benefits, a generous PTO policy for work-life balance and more!
Salary Range: $60, 000 - $65, 000 / year DOE
Mechanical Shop Technician Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent;technical training preferred
- 3+ years experience in mechanical assembly and repair in relevant fields such as Commercial Diving, Aircraft Mechanic, auto Mechanic, Medical Gas Plumber, Boiler Mechanic, Electro / Mechanical Controls Mechanic, Marine Industry Technician
- Must be able to interpret technical drawings and fabricate and assemble by following the drawings
- Must have U.S. Work authorization;eligible for a Secret Clearance
- Experience with PLC or LabView and CAD/CAM software preferred
- Understanding of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, industry standards
- Experience with software development, HMI s using PLC or LabView platform is preferred
- Experience with CAD/CAM software is preferred
Mechanical Shop Technician Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical systems in hyperbaric chambers
- Perform fabrication AND maintenance work
- Operate manual and computer-controlled equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders, CNC machines)
- Read and apply schematics and layout drawings for assembly and installation
- Select and prepare materials for machining;perform equipment maintenance
- Inspect components for quality;maintain machining process records
- Follow all safety protocols
