Job Description

A fast-growing, boutique divorce and family law firm in White Plains, NY is seeking a Matrimonial and Family Law Paralegal to join their team. This role will involve drafting legal documents, managing discovery, and assisting with case preparation. This position offers a hybrid work environment, cutting-edge technology, and opportunities to grow in a collaborative and professional setting. They are seeking a polished, detail-oriented professional with empathy for clients and a strong background in family and divorce law.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 / year DOE
Matrimonial and Family Law Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review
- Prepare and organize discovery, including document production and interrogatories
- Maintain case files, track case deadlines, and manage the case calendar
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, court appearances, depositions, and mediations
- Prepare financial affidavits, child support worksheets, and other financial documentation
- Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Assist with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders
- Support drafting settlement agreements, parenting plans, and other family law documents
- Manage client billing and track time entries in the firm s billing system
Matrimonial and Family Law Paralegal Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree required
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience specializing in family and divorce law
- Experience drafting pleadings, including complaints and answers
- Proficiency with Statements of Net Worth, Financial Disclosure Affidavits, and Child Support worksheets
- Familiarity with billable hourly requirements
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom
- Knowledge of Clio software is preferred, but not required
