Manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control

A pioneering food and beverage company in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. This pivotal role will oversee a small team responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance and control, exceptional leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of food safety regulations. They are seeking a motivated and passionate individual.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 / year DOE
Manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the QA/QC team
- Establish and implement new quality control methods and instruments
- Coordinate laboratory operations, focusing on timely release of raw materials and flavors
- Prepare for and facilitate audits (ISO, organic certifications, kosher programs)
- Update and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures
- Manage timelines and workflows to ensure balanced workloads among the team
- Ensure compliance with international regulations and GFSI audit protocols
- Collaborate with regulatory teams to maintain quality standards in production
Manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field (required)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control and assurance within the food or beverage industry
- 5-8 years of management experience in QA/QC
- Strong knowledge of GFSI audit protocols and flavor industry standards
- Experience with ERP systems (Infor SyteLine preferred, but training available)
- HACCP certification is a plus; additional food safety certifications are also preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a diverse team
