A leading manufacturer specializing in cutting-edge subsea propulsion systems is seeking an experienced Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to oversee their supply chain operations and ensure the seamless procurement and delivery of raw materials. Based in San Diego, this team creates custom-engineered products used in groundbreaking ocean exploration, including expeditions to the Titanic. This role involves leading a small team, building strong vendor relationships, and implementing efficient strategies to drive cost savings and operational success. Ideal candidates are flexible problem-solvers with a proactive approach and a passion for innovation in a close-knit, collaborative environment.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 / year DOE

Logistics and Supply Chain Manager Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the supply chain team, including purchasing and buyer roles
• Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials and vendor relationships
• Schedule and coordinate materials for multiple manufacturing processes, ensuring timely delivery
• Develop and maintain minimum stock levels to meet production demands
• Implement process improvements to optimize cost efficiency and supply chain effectiveness
• Address challenges associated with custom, bespoke products and complex vendor requirements
• Train and mentor new team members, fostering growth and collaboration
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors to improve purchasing leverage

Logistics and Supply Chain Manager Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
• 2-3 years of supervisory experience, including managing a small team
• Strong understanding of raw materials management and minimum stock levels
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Fishbowl or similar inventory systems is a plus
• Ability to interpret technical specifications or blueprints is preferred
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Flexibility to adapt and innovate within a small business environment
• A collaborative attitude and willingness to wear multiple hats as needed
