Litigation Paralegal
Job Description
A leading medical malpractice law firm in New York is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join their team. In this role, you will manage a high volume of medical malpractice and nursing home negligence cases. The position requires exceptional skills in drafting, e-filing, and client communication, with a strong focus on managing and refining settlement processes. If you have at least four years of experience as a litigation paralegal, including personal injury litigation experience, and you understand how to handle settlements, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 / year DOE
Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Draft and manage legal documents with a high focus on detail
- Correspond with clients, setting and managing expectations throughout the settlement process
- E-file court documents and handle administrative duties related to case management
- Work closely with clients and the legal team to prepare settlement numbers and finalize liens
Litigation Paralegal Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, specifically handling settlements
- PI Litigation experience is required
- Proficiency in Smart Advocate and Outlook 365 is preferred
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Compassionate and empathetic; capable of dealing with sensitive situations
- Excellent organizational skills and a high degree of professionalism
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
