Litigation Associate
Job Description
A prestigious law firm in downtown Newark, NJ, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Litigation Associate to join their team! If you have at least 2-3 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting and are skilled in managing complex commercial cases, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to further develop your career by working closely with seasoned attorneys to gain hands-on experience in federal court cases within a small, but well-established firm.
You can look forward to engaging in high-profile cases, representing clients in court hearings, trials and other legal proceedings, all while enjoying a supportive and collaborative work environment. Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 / year DOE
Litigation Associate Requirements:
- 2-3 years of litigation experience in a legal setting
- Must be barred in NJ
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited university
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Adobe
- Experience with e-filing and e-discovery is highly beneficial
- Federal court experience is preferred but not required
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
Litigation Associate Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee complex commercial litigation cases, primarily in federal courts
- Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Represent clients in court, including attending hearings, trials, depositions, and mediations
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, such as briefs and memoranda
- Handle e-discovery processes, including document review and management
