Legal Litigation Assistant
Job Description
Join a San Francisco Bay Area boutique law firm specializing in business law and legal services for mid-sized and startup companies. As a Legal Litigation Assistant, you will support a dynamic litigation team through all phases of legal work, including trial preparation and court filings. This position offers the opportunity to develop professionally while contributing to a high-performing team. If you have a strong civil litigation background and are ready for a challenging yet supportive work environment, this is the ideal position for you.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 / year DOE
Legal Litigation Assistant Requirements:
- 3-5 years of litigation experience, specifically in civil litigation
- Strong knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure rules
- Experience with court filings, including e-filing in state and federal courts
- Proficiency in PACER, ECF, and case management software (e.g., LSSe64)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat, and e-Discovery tools
- Proven ability to format legal documents and create tables of contents/authorities for legal briefs
- Paralegal certificate prefered
Legal Litigation Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with drafting, and filing motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Handle court filings in compliance with state and federal court requirements, including e-filing
- Manage discovery, including document production and e-discovery platform management
- Organize trial preparation, including exhibits, depositions, and witness preparation
- Maintain case calendars and deadlines
- Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
