Jr. Estimator
Job Description
A reputable construction company that specializes in commercial and resilient flooring solutions is seeking a Commercial Flooring Estimator to join their team in Riviera Beach, FL! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of construction-related experience, preferably in commercial flooring, and a strong understanding of flooring materials and installation processes. Pay Range: $65,000 - $78,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Research new Invitation to Bid (ITB) opportunities
- Review incoming ITBs and update the bids calendar
- Perform take-offs for flooring products, including resilient flooring and porcelain tile
- Review job specifications during the estimating process
- Obtain pricing from vendors and follow up on quotes
- Calculate and determine spread rates for setting materials and accessories required for each flooring project
- Prepare accurate estimates and proposals
- Conduct bid review meetings with the CEO
- Address client inquiries regarding bids, plans, pricing, and changes
- Follow up on estimates sent to clients
- Update Procore, our project management software, as needed
- Attend pre-bid meetings with clients when required
- Occasionally, perform field measurements and job site walks with clients, which may involve local travel
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience related to construction, with a preference for commercial flooring experience
- Familiarity with flooring materials and installation processes
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Ability to navigate new software if necessary
- Exposure to or experience in comprehending blueprints, construction drawings, and diagrams is a plus
- Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
