Inventory Bookkeeper
Job Description
A family-owned recycling company in Cleveland, OH is searching for a skilled and experienced Inventory Bookkeeper to join their team! This role is perfect for an experienced accountant with at least 5 years in manufacturing, construction, or metal/mining industries. You'll be the go-to expert for all things accounting, taking charge of key financial functions like inventory control, AP/AR, payroll, and reporting. Inventory Bookkeeper Requirements:
- 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, debits/credits, and AP/AR
- Experience with inventory management, ideally with knowledge of FIFO or LIFO inventory accounting
- Bachelor s degree in accounting is highly preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the metal and mining industry is preferred
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with bank, CPA firm and colleagues
Inventory Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory and inventory control, including monthly closeout and physical inventory tracking
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and weekly aging reports
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, debits/credits, and financial reporting
- Prepare quarterly reports for the bank and handle bank reconciliations
- Oversee property and casualty insurance, ensuring coverage is maintained
- Supervise front office staff, overseeing their work and providing support as needed
- Sign company checks and handle banking relationships
- Make occasional collections calls and manage payroll for both office and plant staff
- Oversee pension funds and handle 5500 filings
- Collaborate with external CPA firm for various financial activities
