A successful boutique law firm based in Woodland Hills, CA is looking to hire an exceptional Insurance Defense Attorney! The key responsibilities of the Insurance Defense Attorney are handling premises liability and insurance defense cases, including legal drafting, e-filing, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation. This role offers an attractive hybrid schedule with just 1-2 days of in-office work per week, along with excellent benefits! Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 / year DOE
Insurance Defense Attorney Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse caseload of 20-50 files, ensuring a balance of straightforward and complex cases
- Represent clients in premises liability, insurance defense, and litigation matters, including trip/slip-and-fall incidents, third-party assaults, and other disputes
- Engage in all phases of litigation, including case strategy development, depositions, mediations, trial preparation, and courtroom representation
- Work collaboratively within a structured team model that includes attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants
- Build direct relationships with high-profile clients, including self-insured companies and policyholders
- Leverage opportunities to work on a variety of legal matters beyond core responsibilities, such as transportation, logistics, and business litigation
Insurance Defense Attorney Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, specifically in premises liability and insurance defense
- A strong willingness to take cases to trial; trial experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to manage a substantial caseload efficiently
- High emotional intelligence, coupled with superior verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in legal document management systems, timekeeping tools, and MS Office applications, particularly Word
- A strategic thinker with a focus on ethical practice, professionalism, and achieving favorable outcomes for clients
