Job Description
A national product liability defense firm in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their dynamic team! They are looking for candidates with at least 2 years of experience as an attorney working in general insurance defense with product liability experience preferred and a passion for crafting innovative legal strategies in a fast-paced environment. This role is perfect for attorneys who want hands-on experience and strong mentorship, making it a great choice for ambitious professionals looking to move forward in their careers. The position includes a full benefits package with comprehensive health insurance, unlimited PTO, and competitive pay. It also offers a hybrid work schedule, with 2-3 days remote.
Salary Range: $175,000 - $195,000 DOE + Bonus
Insurance Defense Attorney Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as an attorney
- General insurance defense experience
- 1 year of product liability experience is preferred
- Must have experience with depositions
- Must have experience preparing cases for trial
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills
- Professional demeanor, ability to work well with diverse personalities, and a commitment to producing quality work
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the California State Bar
Insurance Defense Attorney Responsibilities:
- Manage a dynamic caseload, ensuring all cases are handled efficiently
- Perform legal research, drafting, and writing to support case preparation
- Conduct depositions to collect essential testimony and information
- Represent the firm and its clients in court hearings and meetings
- Prepare legal pleadings, motions, and briefs for court submissions
- Engage in discovery to obtain and exchange vital case-related information
- Quickly prepare for and participate in trials, adopting a hands-on approach
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and billing records
- Work with the marketing team on initiatives to build the firm s clientele
