Job Description


Our client in San Diego, CA is seeking a Network and Unified Communications Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate should be well-rounded and capable of handling problems independently, with at least 5 years of experience in network design.  In this role you will work closely with the principal engineer and represent the company at a high level, communicating effectively with clients and managing multiple projects simultaneously.  Your day-to-day duties will include working on projects, following up with clients, communicating with the Project Manager on deadlines, and working with the service desk as needed.  This position is hybrid after a probationary period of 90 days and there is some local travel involved.


Pay Range: $90,000 - $120,000 DOE


Responsibilities:
  • Work independently and handle network and unified communications problems
  • Represent the department and communicate effectively with clients and internal resources
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously and ensure project deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure project status is communicated effectively
  • Provide regular follow-up with clients and ensure client satisfaction
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed
  • Work with the service desk as required

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in network design and implementation
  • Expertise in network engineering and networking concepts such as the OSI Model
  • Experience with Cisco or Meraki networking technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Connectwise
  • MSP experience preferred
  • Certificates such as CCNP, JNCIP-ENT, etc. are preferred
  • Experience with Cisco VOIP design and deployment is a plus
  • Knowledge of automation frameworks leveraging Ansible, Nornir, Python, Jenkins, Git, Netbox is a plus
