Hybrid Insurance Defense Paralegal
Job Description
A national product liability defense firm in Torrance, CA is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to join their team! This role involves providing support to multiple attorneys and handling a variety of duties related to insurance defense & product liability litigation, including document preparation, discovery assistance, trial preparation, and advanced case management. They are looking for candidates with at least 5 years of relevant law firm experience and a strong background in defense work, particularly in automotive product liability. The position is an hourly role that comes with full benefits, and a hybrid work schedule with a mix of remote and in-office days.
Pay Range: $80, 000 - $100, 000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Support litigation advancement by collaborating closely with attorneys and updating team members on case statuses
- Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, including correspondence, agreements, and pleadings
- Assist with discovery processes, including handling requests, depositions, and subpoenas
- Conduct document review and analysis using specialized platforms like Relativity
- Efficiently manage electronic case files via iManage
- Coordinate and prepare for trials, including managing exhibits and attending trials when necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelor s Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm, with a preference for 8-10 years
- Expertise in Insurance Defense/Product Liability
- Automotive manufacturing product liability experience prefered
- Demonstrated defense experience and active participation in case preparation up to trial
- Proficiency in systems such as West Law, iManage, Expert Time, and Relativity
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring clear and proactive interactions with team members and clients
- High level of initiative and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex cases
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality work standards
