Job Description


A technology and solution-based consulting service is looking for Health IT Business Development Manager in Rockville, Maryland. This position will be responsible for the growth of their department. They work with their sales team to develop mutually beneficial proposals, negotiate contract terms and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Pay Range: $160,000-$200,000 DOE

Responsibilities:
  • Meet with customers, clients, and teammates (Prime, Sub) to develop, establish, build and maintain relationships.
  • Existing relationships in place with teaming partners large and small are highly desired.
  • Have current market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.
  • Proactively identify, qualify, lead and bring opportunity into the Capture phase
  • Perform market research to qualify new business opportunities, including analysis of customer budgets, capabilities required, current customer preferences, competitive environment assessments, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain % defined target new business pipeline on a rolling 18?month basis
  • Be able to create short, mid and long?term opportunity pipelines.
  • Work with Senior Leadership on call plan development and execution. Be able to provide reports and status on call plan execution.
  • Work cooperatively with program management, marketing, finance, contracts, legal, and executive management to maximize organizational involvement to develop winning bids
  • Responsible for tracking targets in a corporate tracking system, following approved Business Acquisition Processes, developing, and presenting senior management Gate Reviews of opportunities
  • Maintain Strategic Account Plans for customers in BD Manager’s Portfolio.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of relevant direct BD/Account Manager experience in the Health IT market
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or functional discipline or equivalent desired
  • A demonstrated/verifiable track record of proven success in opportunity identification, qualification, and development
  • A mature and active network of contacts relevant to the Health IT markets, their clients and the contractor industry that supports those clients.
  • Existing pipeline established that you could bring to the client
  • Solid interpersonal, oral presentation, negotiating and influencing skills
