Head ADU Designer
Job Description
A modern home remodeling and construction services company in Pacific Beach, CA is searching for a highly skilled Head ADU Designer to join their team! They are looking for an expert in drafting plans for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and garage conversions to develop detailed architectural plans that meet the unique needs of each client project with precision and creativity. If you have a background in residential construction, a strong understanding of ADU and garage regulations, and you are an AutoCAD expert, this is the perfect opportunity for you to join a fun company in the heart of PB where you will have the amazing chance to become an integral part of a small team in a start-up atmosphere where you will help client s remodeling dreams come to life in a dynamic and booming industry!
Pay Range: Up to $140, 000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed architectural plans for ADUs and garage conversions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Coordinate submission of plans to the city and manage the approval process
- Work closely with customers, the city, and designers to make necessary corrections to plans
- Regularly visit job sites (approximately 2 per week) to take measurements and ensure accuracy of plans
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically around 8 at a time
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between different parties, including customers, city officials, and designers
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential construction drafting (ADU) or multifamily construction background (10 years is preferred)
- Licensed architect that works for design/build
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software
- In-depth knowledge of ADU regulations and garage conversion guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Bachelor s degree in a related field
- Residential construction background
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
