Job Description

A dominating agriculture company in Kingsburg, CA is seeking a Grower Accountant to join their dynamic team, where you'll take the lead in managing financial operations. This critical role oversees accounting for multiple entities, ensures accurate financial reporting for grower clients, and supports internal departments with operational accounting needs. If you re an experienced accounting professional with a passion for the agricultural industry and a proactive, detail-oriented approach, this opportunity is for you.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 / year DOE
Grower Accountant Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for grower clients
- Manage accounting operations across three entities, including farms, cold storage, and transportation
- Prepare grower accounting and lot accounting reports
- Oversee accounts payable communications with vendors and growers
- Compile data to support domestic tax reporting and assist with IRS Form 5471 preparations
- Contribute to inventory-related financial statements and management reports
- Analyze financial data, including revenues, expenses, yields, and trends
- Support process improvements in accounting and finance
- Provide operational accounting support and resolve related issues promptly
Grower Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field is required
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience in the agricultural industry
- Experience as an Accounting Manager, Controller, or Grower Accountant
- Strong proficiency in Excel and Word is required
- Hands-on experience with AP in grower accounting
- Familiarity with FAMOUS software (preferred)
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small, team-oriented environment
