Part-Time Fund Accountant
Job Description
A dynamic financial services firm in Boston, MA is seeking a part-time Fund Accountant to join their team! This is your chance to work in a smaller firm where you can actively contribute to the fund accounting operations and gain valuable insight into the entire investment process by sitting in on meetings with the investment team. You’ll have a key role in maintaining financial records, preparing statements, coordinating taxes, managing compliance, and overall supporting the CFO in all types of aspects.
This part-time position requires approximately 20-25 hours per week and offers the flexibility of remote work. Pay Range: $50 - $55/hr DOE
Responsibilities:
- Conduct full-cycle accounting, including journal entries and financial statement preparation
- Manage the quarterly close process for ancillary funds and two initial funds
- Maintain capital accounts and handle expense reimbursements
- Assist in coordinating taxes and collecting necessary information
- Monitor portfolio performance and report to investors and the internal team
- Support the CFO in various administrative tasks, including HR and IT
- Maintain the investor portal and handle investor relations as the role evolves
- Process expense reports for the deal team and bill portfolio companies
Requirements:
- 4+ years fund accounting experience
- Private equity experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups
- CPA certification is preferred
- Experience with AllView and PowerBI highly desired
- Tax experience in private equity is a plus
- Must live in the East Coast time zone, preferably in the Boston, MA area
