Financial Accountant
Job Description

A trusted name in the agriculture and farming industry is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their close-knit team. This role involves leading month-end close processes, preparing detailed financial reports, managing accounts payable/receivable, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP. Additionally, you'll collaborate on budgets, maintain fixed asset records, and support the development of forecasts. They are looking for a motivated candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values efficiency, and has a passion for the agriculture industry.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 / year DOE
Financial Accountant Responsibilities:
- Oversee and lead the month-end close and reporting cycle with precision
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and operational reports
- Post journal entries, research discrepancies, and reconcile accounts
- Manage and maintain accounts payable and receivable processes
- Maintain, reconcile, and report on fixed assets and farm equipment changes
- Collaborate with management on operational and capital budget development
- Assist with preparing annual running forecasts
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of statutory reports to local, state, and federal agencies
- Adhere to US GAAP standards and enforce internal accounting policies and procedures
- Foster relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial goals
Financial Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
- Superior Excel skills, with a strong ability to manipulate and analyze data
- Understanding of US GAAP standards
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in production agriculture accounting
- CPA designation or Master s degree in Accounting is a plus
- Experience with crop accounting, joint ventures, or custom farming deals
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
