Finance Director
Job Description
A well-established nonprofit organization that provides essential mental health programs and services for children is seeking a Finance Director to join them on their mission to support underserved populations! They are looking for someone with at least 7 years of financial reporting experience, including 3-4 years in accounting management, ideally with time spent working in the nonprofit sector to manage a small finance, while overseeing all aspects of corporate financial accounting. After an initial training period, this role will turn into a hybrid position based on the organizations headquarters in Richmond, VA. Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Balance and prioritize tasks, including managing requests from directors, meeting board expectations, and supporting staff
- Collaborate with directors from various departments, such as philanthropy
- Oversee corporate financial accounting, ensuring the integrity of all revenue lines, reconciling income sources, and overseeing invoicing and insurance claims
- Manage financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Take ownership of the accounting and month-end process, including P&L and balance sheet
- Conduct audits and meticulously track all donations
- Directly manage a team consisting of a Sr Analyst, Sr Data Manager, and Billing Supervisor
- Present the yearly budget to the board
- Ensure program costs remain within budget
- Track every donation received
- Work with a non-profit accounting system (MIP/Abila) and QuickBooks Pro
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in financial reporting
- 3-4 years of experience in accounting management
- Non-profit sector experience is preferred
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with relevant coursework is strongly preferred
