Estate Planning and Probate Attorney
Job Description
A forward-thinking legal services firm in Chicago, IL is searching for an Estate Planning and Probate Attorney! They are looking for candidates with a strong background in estate and gift tax, experience drafting complex estate planning documents and the ability to manage clients from the initial meeting to signing. Estate Planning and Probate Attorney Requirements:
- 6-7+ years of experience in estate planning
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited university
- Estate and gift tax knowledge
- Experience drafting complex estate planning documents
- Must be barred in IL
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with Lean Law and Pro Systems software preferred
- Experience with fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) is preferred
- LLM degree is preferred
- Book of business for partner consideration
Estate Planning and Probate Attorney Responsibilities:
- Draft complex estate planning documents, including SLATs, ILITS, GRATs, and Charitable Trusts
- Manage clients from initial meeting to signing
- Handle gift and estate tax returns
- Oversee probate and estate administration
- Achieve target annual billables of 1600 hours
