Job Description


A leading manufacturer of high-performance testing solutions for the developers and manufacturers of optical fibers, cables, and fiber-based components is searching for an Electronic Buyer to join their team in Beaverton, OR! They are looking for a decisive and communicative individual to manage the purchasing of electric components, working closely with engineers on production needs and with the quality department to ensure that all materials meet high-quality standards. The day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing orders through the MRP system, identifying shortages, expediting materials, and maintaining proactive communication with stakeholders. Salary Range: $70, 000 - $90, 000 / year DOE

Electronic Buyer Requirements:
  • 5-7+ years of buying experience, preferably in electronics or manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Proven ability to work independently, make decisions, and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong organization skills to manage emails and requests
  • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (ECI/MAX preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or 10+ years of experience in supply chain/purchasing

Electronic Buyer Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineers on component changes and production needs
  • Serve as both NPI and production buyer
  • Manage orders on the MRP system, including placing and tracking orders
  • Coordinate with the planning department to identify and address shortages
  • Work with the quality department to identify and handle rework needs
  • Ensure accurate PO updates and tracking of incoming/outgoing materials
  • Expedite materials as needed and attach accurate drawings to outgoing orders
  • Return defective parts to vendors and manage repair logistics
  • Handle custom orders efficiently with a high level of organization
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders and handle approvals for large orders
