Electrical Designer/Engineer
Job Description
A leading energy efficiency engineering, environmental, and management consulting firm is seeking a talented Electrical Designer/Engineer to join their design team Fairfax, VA! They are looking for candidates with 2-3 years of residential electrical design experience to work on new residential construction projects that include both single-family homes and multi-unit apartments. Pay Range: $60, 000 - $70, 000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Prepare one-line diagrams and electrical layouts with minimal guidance from engineers
- Respond to RFIs and review project submittals efficiently
- Address installation challenges with electrical systems, including on-site resolutions
- Develop floor plans detailing electrical layouts, fixtures, and equipment
- Generate electrical load calculations and panel schedules
- Draft specifications and schedules for electrical materials and equipment
- Design fire alarm layouts and select equipment with limited oversight
- Apply risk management strategies to minimize potential project issues
- Manage the design process to adhere to project timelines
- Liaise with contractors for seamless design implementation and resolution of issues
- Ensure quality deliverables to and from clients and encourage inter-disciplinary coordination
- Communicate with Operations, Owners, and Subcontractors to ensure project success
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in designing single-family, 3-story townhouses, 4-story townhouses, and multi-family apartment buildings
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to work in a team-first environment with open communication
- E.I.T. Certification is a plus
- P.E. License is a plus
- Experience with small commercial projects (tenant fit-outs, lounges, offices, restaurants) is a plus
