Job Description


A brand activation company is seeking a Director of Sales & Business Development in Houston, TX. As a Director of Sales & Business Development, you will be responsible for driving business growth, acquiring new business opportunities, developing initiatives for current client saturation, strengthening and building client relationships, and managing the sales and BD teams with energy and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate must be an experienced sales leader who can manage and delegate responsibilities and hold their team accountable. 
 
Pay Range: $175,000 - $200,000 DOE 
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Manage and develop a pipeline seeking new business opportunities across the country 
  • Research prospective clients and prepare new business proposals using creative resources
  • Identify and nurture leads to successfully pass on Sales Producers and drive revenue
  • Evaluate incoming leads and collaborate on outbound marketing strategies
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, building partnerships with clients and networking with existing accounts
  • Develop and implement sales plans that meet company and brand objectives
  • Lead sales presentations to existing and potential clients
  • Bridge external and internal communications to ensure deliverables align with client expectations and company goals
  • Seek out new business opportunities, both internally and externally
  • Execute long-term strategic goals
  • Oversee high-level planning, large-scale competitive bids, and proposal development 
  • Review the sales pipeline and oversee its management through the sales producer team
 
Requirements: 
  • Minimum of 7.5 years of agency sales experience in the $3.5-million-plus range
  • Strong, stable sales background with meetings, events, marketing, and creative agencies
  • Documented experience in ideating and executing strategic programs with/for complex and matrixed organizations
  • Proven organizational and managerial skills
  • Motivated and driven to research, prospect, and get the opportunity to pitch
  • Track record of aggressively developing a continual pipeline of clients and quickly surpassing sales targets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Google Docs
  • Ability to work within a CRM platform and integrated marketing automation
