Job Description
A hybrid broker/dealer investment firm specializing in contrarian-style investments is searching for a Director of Investments to join their team in Denville, NJ! If you have at least 5 years of experience managing portfolios in financial services at an RIA or broker/dealer firm, and you thrive in an environment that values honesty, integrity, and collaboration, we want to meet you. Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 / year DOE
Director of Investments Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in financial services (RIA or broker-dealer) in a similar role managing portfolios
- Bachelor s degree
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros required).
- Willingness to pursue CFA certification
- Series 7 and 63 licenses is preferred
- CFA is highly preferred
Director of Investment Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain financial models
- Conduct 2-3 investment meetings per week with fund managers
- Monitor and recommend portfolio changes
- Execute trading, rebalances, and tax loss harvesting
- Adjust portfolios for significant gains during rebalances
- Communicate with clients and conduct monthly market education meetings for the team
- Perform trades quarterly, primarily tweaking small-cap investments and reducing emerging markets exposure
