A prestigious mixed-use luxury property in Vail, Colorado, is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee financial operations for its boutique hotel and HOA components! This strategic role involves managing financial statements, collaborating with department leaders to optimize budgets and forecasts, and enhancing operational efficiencies while fostering a positive, team-oriented culture. Director of Finance Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations for a mixed-use property, including a hotel and condominiums
- Manage and develop a finance team, including an assistant director, accounting manager, AP clerk, and staff accountant
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, communicating key insights to property and corporate leaders
- Collaborate with department heads to improve operational efficiency, optimize budgets, and enhance revenue
- Lead banking relationships and liaise with property owners and the corporate office on financial matters
- Implement strategic plans to drive property growth and improve financial performance
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
Director of Finance Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality finance, ideally within hotels or mixed-use properties
- Strong managerial experience, with a proven track record of developing and leading teams
- Experience with Great Plains or NetSuite accounting systems
- Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with non-financial department leaders
- Ability to interpret financial statements and develop actionable strategies to improve efficiency and profitability
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in hospitality settings
