Job Description

An innovative live event company in Tempe, AZ is searching for a proactive and experienced Director of Event Operations to lead their team by overseeing the entire production process from inception to completion of all operational activities. This position is perfect for a seasoned leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at anticipating and solving problems before they arise, and is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role offers the chance to work with a highly experienced and dedicated team and excellent growth potential!

Director of Event Operations Requirements:

  • 5-8+ years of experience in production operations
  • At least 2-3 years of experience within the events, production, or custom fabrication industries
  • Proven track record of effective leadership and team management skills across multiple departments
  • Top-tier project management and organizational skills
  • Proactive problem solver who can anticipate challenges and address them before they impact the project
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal and external contributors confidently
  • Knowledgeable on all aspects of the industry from event production to supply chain management
  • Bachelor s degree in a related field is preferred
  • Willingness to travel less than 25% and occasionally work weekends/after hours
  • Able to work 100% onsite from their office in Tempe, AZ

Director of Event Operations Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations team to ensure all aspects of event production meet client expectations
  • Manage a team of Production Managers, providing guidance and oversight on project details
  • Ensure the fabrication process is on schedule and aligns with project goals
  • Coordinate with audiovisual technicians, program managers, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Delegate tasks effectively while being ready to step in and assist as needed
  • Oversee approximately 20 projects per month, ranging from small meetings to large-scale tradeshows
  • Ensure all project elements are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
  • Travel occasionally to events across the country to oversee on-site operations
  • Implement and improve processes to boost efficiency regularly, train and mentor team members
