Director of Development
Job Description
A Brazilian community nonprofit organization based out of New York, NY is searching for a Director of Development. They are looking for someone who is Portuguese-English bilingual with at least 5 years of fundraising or philanthropy experience to be responsible for fundraising and donor relationship management. The Director of Development will work closely with the foundation's team in New York, engaging in strategic outreach efforts and maintaining high-level communication with donors. Pay Range: $95,000 - $105,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Organize donor events and maintain relationships, primarily in New York and Miami
- Conduct outreach to former donors and create new contacts, focusing on high-net-worth individuals interested in Brazil
- Drive fundraising efforts for the foundation’s 25th-anniversary goal
- Manage relationships with corporate and private foundations
- Uphold high-level communication standards for donor engagement
Requirements:
- 5+ years of fundraising or philanthropy experience
- Bilingual in Portuguese and English
- Knowledge of fundraising platforms like Blackbaud and Fundraise Op
- Bachelor's degree – Master’s degree is preferred
- Familiarity with working with high-net-worth individuals
- Basic financial communication skills
- Experience in international foundations is preferred
