Director of Construction
Job Description
A construction company specializing in steel fabrication is looking for a Director of Construction to spearhead its General Contracting division in St. Louis, MO! In this role, you will be the main person in the division, managing projects, hiring and leading a team, and developing relationships with clients and subcontractors, focusing on healthcare projects, school systems, tenant improvements, and private industrial work. They are looking for candidates with at least 10+ in general contracting or project management, a strong network of industry connections, and a proven track record of managing multi-million dollar projects. Director of Construction Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience at a General Contractor within construction or 10+ years as a Project Manager ready to move up
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven track record of managing high budget projects
- Strong industry connections and a network of subcontractors
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Engineering background is preferred
- Experience with Procor software is preferred
- Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri or Palatine, IL
Director of Construction Responsibilities:
- Lead the new General Contracting division, overseeing tenant improvement, healthcare, school systems, and private industrial projects
- Manage projects ranging in budgets ensuring timely and cost-effective completion
- Establish and develop relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders in the industry
- Hire, mentor and lead a team of estimators and project managers, making strategic decisions to build a successful team
- Work closely with the President/CEO and the General Manager-Fabrication to strategize and implement plans for division growth
- Use Procor software for project management and coordination
- Participate in the recruitment process for new hires in the division
- Develop and implement future growth plans and market strategies
