This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Criminal Defense Lawyer to join a well-established team in central Pennsylvania, dedicated exclusively to defending clients across a broad spectrum of cases. This role involves managing a significant caseload, including DUIs, drug-related charges, and severe felonies. The position requires hands-on trial preparation, managing discovery processes, preparing evidence, drafting legal motions, and collaborating with clients to strategize effective defense approaches. Regular court appearances and day trips within Pennsylvania will be essential components of the role. The ideal candidate is a committed professional with at least five years of criminal defense experience, exceptional trial skills, and a strong ability to maintain ethical, supportive relationships with clients. This role needs a proactive and detail-oriented lawyer who excels in a collaborative environment and is dedicated to achieving successful outcomes.
Salary Range: $104,000 - $156,000 / year DOE
Criminal Defense Lawyer Requirements:
- Juris Doctor degree with active Pennsylvania Bar membership
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in criminal defense, with substantial trial experience in state courts
- Prior experience in professional license defense or federal cases is a plus
- Strong client relationship management skills and the ability to maintain composure with a diverse client base
- Proficiency in legal software such as Clio, Westlaw, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Commitment to ethical practices and teamwork in a collaborative office environment
Criminal Defense Lawyer Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-volume caseload, including DUIs, drug offenses, and serious felony cases
- Conduct legal research, manage discovery processes, and prepare cases for trial with thoroughness and strategic insight
- Handle direct client communication to manage expectations and provide clear, ethical guidance
- Coordinate trial preparation, including compiling evidence, drafting motions, and strategizing defense arguments
- Collaborate with the internal team, utilizing Clio for case management and Westlaw for research, to ensure efficient and well-documented case progress
- Travel as needed within Pennsylvania for court appearances
